Will folliculitis disappear on its own?

Que: About 6 days back, I had what seems like folliculitis, but it was only in one spot in the transplanted area. My doctor prescribed Augmentin and Fucidin, which lead to the folliculitis reducing. The redness reduced as did the area, but the condition is still there. As of now I am happy with the amount of hair growth I have, but I am worried that it might all vanish. Should I be concerned?

Ans: It is common to develop folliculitis in the recipient area, after a hair transplant, and in most cases, medication takes care of the same. However, if the infection does not subside even after medication, you might want to meet the operating surgeon once again. As for hair loss, such localised infections will not affect your hair growth or the results of the transplant.
