What are the corrective actions for loss of hair grafts?

Que: 6 days after my FUE surgery, I was massaging my dry scalp slowly and only with my fingertips. Something crisp fell off and I thought that these were probably the scabs. I continued doing the same because I wanted to get rid of the scabs. However, I noticed that there were also hair attached to those scabs. Did I do something wrong, because I had been told that after 10 days, the grafts are completely fixed in the scalp.

Ans: It is completely normal to lose hair within 2 to 3 weeks of the surgery, but from what you have described, it looks like you used too much force while massaging your scalp, which is why the scab and the hair fell out. Ideally, you should have waited for 10 days, before applying aloevera gel on your scalp and then gently washing it away with a gentle shampoo. You can use saline to keep the area moist till that time. As for the scabs falling out with the hair, there is nothing to worry about, because the roots are probably already settled in.
