The way you look plays a big role in how you are perceived in the big bad world of today. It is of utmost importance that you look your best at all times, because you never know when someone of significance might be paying attention to you. Your clothes might play a big role, but how your skin and hair look, also matter, which is why you need to pay attention to both, at all times.

Taking care of your skin is actually not as tough as you might think, and with a little bit of effort, you can have skin that you can be proud of. Here are some simple resolutions that you can make, which will leave you with skin that is perfect. All you need to do is ensure that you stick to these resolutions, because you need to remember that great skin does not come by chance, you do need to put a certain amount of effort into it.

Skincare Resolutions

  • Resolution number 1: Greens are important

Beauty comes from within – whether it is physical or mental. While you have to be a warm and generous person with much love to give, to have that natural glow about you, it is also important that you put good things into your body, so as to keep it nourished and healthy. After all, only a healthy body, can have skin that looks healthy and glows. Most of the time, we are not truly careful about what we eat, but for someone who really wants to take care of his or her skin, eating right is crucial. Plant based healthy foods need to rank high in your diet, if you want to have stunning skin. Greens are actually great for your skin, which means that you need to include plenty of foods that are green in colour. Start with spinach, kale, Swiss chard, mustard greens and even kiwi and avocado, because all of these will work really well in your favour. You can either eat them in their natural form, add them to your soups and salads or even blend them into a power drink.

  • Resolution number 2: Start a beauty regime that you can consume

You might have heard of liquid chlorophyll and in case you haven’t, its high time you do, because it is like liquid gold for your skin. Liquid chlorophyll has often been described as a green juice on steroids, and it can provide you with your required dose of concentrated goodness, on a daily basis, in perhaps the simplest of forms. There are also plenty of probiotic powders, which you can add to your daily diet to see great results. For instance, you can add them to your smoothies or power drinks, because not only will they handle chronic indigestion related issues, but also cleanse your system, from within.

  • Resolution number 3: Hydrate!

The simplest of things is actually the best way to take care of your skin – water. Not only will you need to wash your face with clean water, three times a day, you need to ingest it all the more. When you drink enough water in the day, it will flush out all the toxins from your body, leaving it clean and hydrated. If plain water bores you, then you could add a few slices of lemon or even have a glass of coconut water or fresh lemonade, to break the monotony. However, you do need to make sure that you have a minimum of 3 litres of water, each day.

  • Resolution number 4: Your skin needs a calendar too!

When you start putting in special effort for your skin, you need to make sure that you have some system that allows you to keep track of the same. This is why, your skin needs a calendar too, because this simple system will allow you not only recognise patterns of cause and effect, which in turn will allow you to create a regime that actually works for you. To many, it might seem like a lot of effort, but in the long run, it will be quite helpful and in the world that we live in today, managing one is super simple. You can either keep a folder on your desktop or email or simply create a new calendar on your phone, which will handle all the skin care related details. These could vary from reminders to drink water to salon appointments.

  • Resolution number 5: Use that calendar

Now that you have that calendar all planned out, you need to start using it, every single day. Once a year, you need to meet a doctor, in particular a dermatologist, who will give you a thorough check up to ensure that all is well with your skin. You will need to schedule sessions for chemical peels or microdermabrasion, once a month. If you are slightly older, you might need to work in Botox or dermal filler sessions as well. Filling in these details should be done with the advice of a professional or a doctor. Most of these beauty procedures often require multiple sittings or repeat procedures and in times like these, having a calendar will certainly help. Even if you are not planning on any peels, dermabrasion or dermal fillers, you should most certainly get a monthly or quarterly facial, which will help remove all dead skin cells and keep your skin fresh and rejuvenated.

  • Resolution number 6: Try something new

There are so many new products and procedures in the market now, that taking care of skin has actually become so much easier. For instance, Retinol is a great product for the skin, and there are plenty of dermatologists and skin specialists who are recommending that it be included in daily skin care routines. Not only does it stimulate the production of collagen naturally, it also increases the elasticity of the skin. There are also procedures such as microneedling, which provide you with a brand new way to stimulate and energise your skin.
