CASE PRESENTATION
Mr. Vinay came to the AK Clinics Bangalore branch with his concern for his receding hairline and hair loss that had gotten worse over the span of 10 years. Hair loss can be a major cause of stress in people and Mr. Vinay was concerned about the baldness that was overshadowing his confidence. Our chief consultant at AK Clinics, Dr. Kapil Dua consulted Mr. Vinay regarding his concerns and performed a hair analysis test to make him understand his best options for hair restoration. Since the baldness in the crown area became more and more prominent by the passing days, Mr. Vinay decided he wanted to undergo hair transplantation at AK Clinics.
Mr. Vinay was diagnosed with grade 6 on the Norwood Scale of Male Pattern Baldness and underwent a FUT hair transplant in our Bangalore branch. Someone with this scale of baldness is most probably now bald from the top and front of the head. These two parts of baldness start to join and there are no patches or strips of hair between them.
The surgery was performed by Dr. Kapil Dua, who has performed over 3000+ surgeries and is the leading hair transplant surgeon in our country. During the surgery, Dr. Kapil Dua harvested 2800 grafts from the scalp’s donor area and 1200 grafts from the beard region and transplanted them to the recipient areas. The surgery was completed over two days in the Bangalore Clinic.

POST-OPERATIVE ASSESSMENT
Mr. Vinay was advised to stay away from the sun and take a good amount of rest and care post-surgery since the post-op care help yield better results. Our Hair Transplant expert, Dr. Kapil Dua helped Mr. Vinay in understanding the necessary steps to take care of the newly transplanted grafts and how to avoid scabs in the area. Mr. Vinay was advised to sleep on a flat surface or a thin pillow for the next 5 days to prevent swelling over the forehead. He was also advised not to wash his head for initial 4 days after the transplant.
We asked Mr. Vinay to attend all the postoperative appointments with Dr. Kapil Dua so he could closely monitor the results and help in the process of growth. Mr. Vinay was given specific post-operative instructions along with some medication by Dr. Kapil Dua, to help yield better growth.
