Que: Over the past few weeks, I have noticed that the hair near my forehead and temples is starting to thin. I am thinking of getting an FUT procedure, but want to know whether the hair will grow back in the donor area. Will I lose hair in one part of the head to gain it in another or will I just have generally thin hair, all over?

Ans: When you go for an FUT, a strip of hair will be removed and the grafts will then be harvested from them. The hair will not grow back, because a portion of the scalp will have been removed. However, the hair from the rest of the head, as well as the newly transplanted areas will grow in, and by styling your hair in a proper manner, you can cover the linear scar. Once your transplant has been done, you can be sure that your hair will be around for a long time.
