Hair Loss and Real Life Heroes

blog1Almost every individual in this world loses a few hair, each day; but for some people the number of hair lost is a little higher. And then, there are those people who have no hair to speak of. These could include those people who have hereditary hair problems or have used chemicals and styling products in excessive amounts.

However, there is one category of bald people who can only be addressed as real life heroes! These are the people who lose their hair to cancer and other autoimmune diseases, such as alopecia universalis, and have very little hope of gaining their crowning glory back ever. But they still to live happy and with a smile on their faces.

While hair restoration and transplant might be options on offer to them, the truth of the matter is that in such cases, these methods rarely work successfully. In many cases, people who have lost their hair to such medical conditions opt to wear wigs or specially designed hair pieces.
But true heroes are those who choose to go completely natural – not willing to hide their disease or all that they have sacrificed to the same. It is heart-warming and gut wrenching at the same time to see young children in such situations. There are examples of children who are just five or six years old, who lose all their hair, yet go about their lives, as if nothing has changed. There are even cases, where young children have lost their eyebrows and eyelashes too, and in such cases, there are very few corrective surgeries on offer.

So, the next time you fret because a few extra hair fell while you were combing it, think about such people and be happy that you will atleast have the option of hair transplant or restoration at a later date!
