Hair falling the day after the hair transplant surgery?

Que: I am 22 years old and just yesterday I had an FUE hair transplant with 1000 grafts. Today, I was washing my scalp, in the manner that my surgeon suggested to me, which is with a gentle shaving foam and water, I noticed that I had hair in my hands, which had a white base. From what I could see, it looked like a graft. There was no bleeding, but now I am worried.

Ans: The grafts take at least 72 hours to get properly embedded, which is why we normally do not suggest washing hair till that time. Because the grafts are not properly settled, there is always the chance that they might come out. We always suggest to our patients that they not try to wash their hair till the 72 hours are over. We advise them to wash shampoo that has been dissolved in water, on the 7th day after the surgery and gentle cleaning with hands, only on the 10th day. However, you might not have lost a lot of grafts, which is why there is no real reason for you to panic. We would suggest though that you not touch your hair for the next few days, and allow the grafts to stabilise before trying to wash them again.
