The Makeover of the Modern Man

There was once a time, when men did not consider personal grooming an important part of their daily routines. For them, taking a bath, keeping their nails trimmed and shaving daily was more than enough. With the change in times, the concept of personal grooming also started to change for men, and the modern man of today, takes out the time to take care of himself. Today, men are going to great lengths to look good and making sure that they stand out in a crowd. As a matter of fact, there are plenty of men, who are even undergoing surgical procedures, just so that they can look better.

As per a study conducted by RealSelf, there has been a drastic increase in the number of men looking at plastic surgery. Even when it comes to dermatology, the numbers have increased by several and a growing number of men are looking at cosmetic alternatives to looking good. A large number of men are now looking at procedures such as Botox, chemical peels, dermabrasion and even laser hair removal.

Men age a bit more gradually:

In women, the aging happens much faster, because once they have gone through childbirth, their body changes drastically. The physical changes descend much more rapidly, and women start to show fine lines and sagging skin much earlier than men. In addition, in most cases, the manner in which men age is considered better than men. For instance, when women develop fines lines, they are referred to as wrinkles, but for men, they are often called character lines, just the manner in which grey hair for men would be known as salt and pepper and distinguished, but in women, it would be a cause to colour.

However, men too will age and the same will start to show eventually, which is when the charm of the once good looking man, will start to fade away. There are still many men, who will think that this is nothing more than the natural aging process and prefer to do nothing about it. But there are a growing number of men who are now looking at either slowing down the natural aging process or at least hide the most obvious of signs.
It is important to remember that looking good is important for men, just as much as it is for women. When men do not look good, they often start to lose out on their level of confidence and this will eventually affect their work and profession. As a matter of fact, these days, a growing number of people, choose to work with men, who are well groomed and take visible efforts to look good.

Keep the changes subtle:

The point where most men, looking at cosmetic procedures, go wrong is the fact that they go for something that is too obvious. They want to look the way they did, almost immediately, which is where they are different as opposed to women. Most women will want look good in a well-fitted pair of jeans, as opposed to looking stunning in a two piece swimsuit. However, there are several men who think that with one surgical procedure, they will start to look like a Calvin Klein model! As long as they are only looking to feeling confident in slim fit shirts, they should be fine. As a matter of fact, if it is a jiggling belly that you are most concerned about, then a simple surgical procedure, such as liposuction, should within an hour or so, take care of the same.

Start with the minimally invasive procedures:

There is no need for you to go for very drastic measures, at the very first instance, because more drastic the surgery, the more obvious it will be. There are plenty of minimally invasive procedures on offer these days. For instance, if your skin has started to sag, you can opt for a dermal filler, which will give your skin the much needed bounce, once again. If you have hair that is thinning, you could go in for a hair transplant, which will give you natural looking hair. Regular microdermabrasion sessions will ensure that your skin has a natural glow and an occasional chemical peel will ascertain that there is no dead skin accumulating on your face.

When exercise does not work:

There are so many people across the world, who eat right and exercise on a regular basis, but still have pockets of fat that just refuse to disappear. In such cases, liposuction would be a great idea, because not only will it take the tedious pockets fat away forever, it will also allow you to fit into your old clothes. Giving you a fitter look, it will enable you to feel great, without making it too obvious that you have undergone a cosmetic procedure.
However, it is important to remember that you do need to take care of your general habits, because with unhealthy habits, there is no way that you will be able to have a healthy body. It will also help you to have general grooming habits, which will project a well-groomed look, at all times.
